Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has announced that crude oil shipments can resume from its Das and Zirku island ports in the Persian Gulf. This decision follows the recent US-Iran agreement, which has improved conditions and is expected to ensure uninterrupted maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. ADNOC emphasized that crude cargoes have been available for loading since April 27, and it cautioned that failing to collect scheduled shipments could lead to breaches of contractual obligations.
In a move to support customers facing shipping challenges, ADNOC has offered assistance through its own or affiliated tanker fleets. This step comes as oil producers in the Gulf region aim to resume normal export operations after facing disruptions. ADNOC has maintained its position as one of the most active exporters in the area, having already sold tens of millions of barrels through tenders.
In addition to resuming operations, the United Arab Emirates is concentrating on expanding alternative export routes to reduce dependency on the Strait of Hormuz. Efforts are underway to accelerate infrastructure projects, including boosting pipeline capacity to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman. This strategic expansion will enable more crude exports to bypass the crucial waterway.
These developments indicate a concerted effort by Gulf oil producers to stabilize and secure their export activities amidst regional tensions. By diversifying export routes and ensuring the steady flow of oil, the UAE is positioning itself to mitigate potential risks related to the Strait of Hormuz while maintaining its robust export capabilities.
