LG Electronics achieved its best-ever financial results for the second quarter, propelled by strong demand in its home appliances, vehicle components, and HVAC systems sectors. The company announced a preliminary operating profit of 1.58 trillion won, equivalent to $1.04 billion, marking an impressive 146.9% increase compared to the previous year. Revenue also saw a significant rise of 14.9%, reaching 23.83 trillion won, thus exceeding market forecasts.
In the first half of the year, LG recorded notable milestones with revenues hitting 47.56 trillion won and operating profits reaching 3.25 trillion won, both of which set new records for the company. The impressive financial performance was underpinned by increased sales across its core business areas, enhanced cost efficiency, growth in subscription services, and the expansion of webOS and online sales.
The home appliance, vehicle solutions, and HVAC divisions were pivotal in driving growth. The demand for premium home appliances, automotive infotainment systems, and cooling solutions surged, particularly in Europe, where recent heatwaves increased the need for effective cooling solutions. This rise in demand significantly contributed to the company’s robust performance.
LG further emphasized its strategic investments in emerging growth areas, such as AI-powered data center cooling technologies and advanced robotics components, which are expected to support future growth and innovation.
